No Kings – Know Before You Go

We Will Stand Together Against Fascism, War, the Oligarchy – and For Democracy.

No Kings Kansas City is a wonderful event that has seen amazing success over the past year. Actions like this are about many things. They are about community building, meeting new people, learning about new organizations, raising your voice in defiance to the regime’s illegal actions and destruction of our democracy, and joining the people in their fight against the fascist takeover of our government. It is everyone’s responsibility to watch out for each other.

Take a moment to read through these tips if you plan on joining us on March 28th at Mill Creek Park in Kansas City!

Safety and Community Care

  • Bring water, sunscreen, and necessary medications, and a mask if you have concerns about doxxing or personal safety.
  • Always plan for safety – the biggest risks are personal medical issues and vehicles.
  • Take care of yourself and one another.
  • Stay Hydrated and listen to your body.
  • Pair up with a buddy and do not leave alone.
  • When protesting in place stay on the sidewalk, the first amendment does not protect you from drivers or bad actors.
  • Pay attention to your surroundings and watch for stragglers when marching. Move with traffic and ask for help if needed.
  • Make sure someone knows where you are.
  • Do not engage with counter-protesters or hecklers. Do not take the bait from agitators in vehicles.
  • Turn off your phone biometrics.
  • Turn off location if you don’t need it.
  • We choose nonviolence – not only as a strategy, but as a commitment to our community and our values.

Once again we will come together as a community and stand for what is right! See you this weekend at No Kings KC!
